Goodbye, UAConnect! Hello, Workday Student!
Beginning today, Aug. 8, the U of A will retire UAConnect, and Workday Student will be campus' exclusive student information system. This milestone is possible thanks to the hard work of many staff, faculty and administrators who have contributed to the implementation of Workday.
Administrative and faculty users will have read-only access to UAConnect through summer of 2026 to aid in reporting and operations.
"As we say goodbye to UAConnect and begin working exclusively in Workday, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has had a hand in making UAConnect such an effective and vital part of our university's growth and successful operation for the last 21 years," said Dave Dawson, senior associate vice provost for Enrollment Services & director of Workday Student. "That same dedication and teamwork is already making Workday Student a success."
UAConnect launched in 2004, when campus enrollment was 17,269. Twenty-one years later, enrollment has nearly doubled, and campus has grown in countless other ways. During this period of growth, UAConnect underwent numerous updates, upgrades and process changes, thanks to the dedication of teams across campus who were responsible for ensuring UAConnect served the needs of the university's students, faculty, staff and administration.
As the university transitions to Workday Student, these same teams remain focused on providing the best experience possible to the campus community.
"The university is fortunate to have a group of talented and committed staff who are dedicated to making Workday the most effective student information system for our campus. Most of these people have been supporting UAConnect for many years, and some were even part of the UAConnect implementation over 20 years ago," Dawson said. "They know their stuff."
Workday is an enterprise resource planning system used by all U of A System schools. Teams at each institution have collaborated with U of A System's Project One for the last four years and have worked to tailor Workday Student to meet the individual needs of each campus. At the U of A, this team includes functional staff from Enrollment Services, the Graduate School and International Education, the School of Law and the Treasurer's Office, as well as staff from Information Technology Services. The Workday Student team in Enrollment Services leads this work and has been busy with data conversion, integrations, configurations, security, change management, training and overall Workday Student support.
