The Department of History is pleased to welcome Joanna Dee Das, who will join us for a conversation about her new book, Faith, Family, and Flag: Branson Entertainment & the Idea of America. Das will discuss her research, writing process, and the broader historical questions that shape her work, followed by time for audience questions and discussion.
The talk will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Gearhart Hall 026.
Das is a professor at Washington University in St. Louis and is also the author of Katherine Dunham: Dance and African Diaspora (2017). She has been interviewed by the Christian Science Monitor, Forbes, NPR, and other media outlets.
