RazALERT is First Level of U of A Campus Safety

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Keeping the University of Arkansas campus secure and informed is an all day, every day priority, and the university’s RazALERT system is the first line of communication in any type of emergency situation.  

RazALERT (pronounced raise alert) is used to send emergency text, email and recorded phone messages to all students, faculty and staff members.

Everyone on campus with an email account automatically receives email RazALERT messages. To receive texts and phone messages, students and faculty have to provide phone numbers in their RazALERT profiles.

It’s easy to do:

• Students can log into ISIS, go to the “Personal Information” section and choose “Campus Alert Systems” from the drop-down menu to check information and sign up for text and voice messages.  
• Faculty and staff can go to BASIS, “My Personal Data” and “Addresses, etc.” to access their RazALERT options and assign phones for text and voice messages.

Text messages get out fastest, but have the least information.

Emails are much more detailed, but take several minutes longer to send out, due to the sheer volume involved – more than 30,000 emails are in the system.

Phone messages, again with more information than a text, can take the longest to receive.

During any emergency situation additional information and updates will always be available on the U of A homepage.

You can check your RazALERT profile anytime, to add numbers or make sure your information is accurate. The best time to do it is today.
