Facilities Management Zone Foreman Tim Campbell retired on Jan. 30 after nearly a decade and a half of service to campus.
Campbell became an employee at the U of A in 2012 when the U of A purchased the buildings at Uptown Campus previously owned by Arkansas Western Gas. Campbell was already managing those facilities for the gas company and transitioned into the same role for the university.
As the supervisor of Uptown campus facilities, Campbell was responsible for overseeing the upkeep of the two buildings in the area and all related projects, service requests and renovations.
Campbell's managers praised him for his diligence in taking care of the interior of the buildings as well as ensuring the groundskeeping was maintained at the highest standard.
One of Campbell's coworkers, project manager for the Office of the Registrar Michael Hooper, was very grateful for his time he got to work with Campbell.
"For me, working alongside Tim over the past 14 years showed what true stewardship looks like," Hooper said. "He knew the buildings inside and out and cared deeply about the people who rely on them every day. His commitment and diligence shaped so much of what we do."
