Graduate Interdisciplinary Lecture Series Flyer

The Environmental Dynamics Student Association's inaugural Graduate Interdisciplinary Lecture Series is now accepting abstracts for its fall 2025 season. Any graduate student interested in exploring how their research connects to that of another graduate student's research in a different discipline should apply to present.

Format

Each lecture event will feature two speakers from different departments who share a common interest in a specific topic (immunology and film on pandemics or architecture and anthropology on third spaces). Each speaker will have a 12-minute presentation window to discuss their perspective, followed by a three-minute Q&A session. After both speakers have presented, they will then participate in a 20-minute roundtable discussion, where they will ask and field questions from the audience.

Submitting Abstracts

Prospective speakers should be prepared to submit a maximum 150-word abstract on their chosen topic with specific emphasis on the interdisciplinary connections from their work. Note that your work does not have to be inherently interdisciplinary, but you should be able to connect it to another discipline, even if in parallel. Also note, you are more likely to be asked to speak if you submit as a team of speakers (two speakers) rather than an individual speaker, as individual speakers will be matched and individuals may not be matched in a timely fashion.

Apply here to present.
