Help Remove Invasive Species at Mount Sequoyah With Beaver Watershed Alliance
The University of Arkansas RecycleBacks will be joining the Beaver Watershed Alliance on an invasive species removal at Mount Sequoyah.
The event will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Friday, May 25. The groups will meet at the Mount Sequoyah Woods trailhead, located at 5 S. Happy Hollow Road in Fayetteville.
Volunteers will remove the highly invasive Amur honeysuckle (Lonicera mackii) and Chinese privet (Ligustrum sinense) to promote native plants for wildlife habitat. Gloves, tools, water and hands-on training will be provided. Weather appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear is recommended.
Visit the RecycleBacks website for more information, and link to the sign-up via GivePulse to log volunteer hours.
