Connect and Stay Informed

Staying informed is one of the easiest ways to stay engaged and avoid missing important deadlines or opportunities throughout the semester.

  • Follow @uarkansas on social media for all official university announcements, campus updates and important reminders.
  • Update your RazALERT contact information to receive campus safety notifications and emergency weather alerts.
  • Review the academic calendar and add key dates now:  

Looking for campus events or ways to stay informed?

  • Campus Calendar: Find campus activities, performances and lectures.
  • HogSync: Explore registered student organizations (RSOs), upcoming events and involvement opportunities.
  • Arkansas News: Stay up to date with daily campus news and stories from across the university.

Students can also connect through campus media, including The Arkansas Traveler, Hill Magazine, KXUA radio, Main Hill Media, Razorback Yearbook and UATV, to stay informed or get involved behind the scenes.

Academic success looks different for every student, but support is available at every stage of your journey - from your first semester through graduation.

Academic Support & Resources

  • Student Success Center (CORD): Offers tutoring, academic coaching, writing support and career services, along with study space and food options.
  • Center for Educational Access (CEA): Provides academic accommodations and support services.
  • Student Handbooks: The Student Handbook and Graduate Student Handbook include information about the code of student life, housing, Greek Life and registered student organizations.
  • University Bookstore: Find textbooks, course materials, supplies, Razorback gear and graduation essentials.

Student Programs

  • First-year students: Destination Arkansas Blackboard Activities is a free, non-credit course designed to help you prepare for your first year at the U of A. Log in at learn.uark.edu.    
  • Online students: Access campus services through the One Stop Student Guide.   
  • Graduate students: Connect with the Office of Graduate Student Support for programming, engagement and professional development opportunities.  
  • International students: The Office of International Students and Scholars offers seminars, intercultural training and country-specific workshops to support campus and community involvement. 

Technology Resources

  • Tech Spot computer labs: Located across campus and offering printing, charging stations and access to a wide range of software.
  • IT Help Desk: In-person support is available in the Arkansas Union. Call 479-575-2905 or submit a request at help.uark.edu.
  • Student Technology Center: Located in the Arkansas Union, offering technology access, gaming and leisure spaces, and a Digital Media Lab for audio and video production, photography, graphics and animation.

Getting Around Campus

Planning how you get to and from class can save time and reduce stress during the semester. The university offers multiple transportation options to help students move safely and efficiently around campus.

Public Transportation

  • Razorback Transit: Free bus service across campus and surrounding areas, with improved routes and real-time tracking available through the Passio GO! app.

Biking, Scooters & Walking

  • Biking: Cyclists riding on sidewalks must follow pedestrian rules, while cyclists on roads follow motor vehicle laws. Review trail etiquette and map your route.  
  • E-scooters: Allowed anywhere bikes are permitted. Campus is a slow zone with a speed limit under 6 mph.   

Parking & Accessibility

  • Parking Services: Purchase a parking permit, review parking maps and manage citations online. Some parking areas must be vacated before home games and special events.
  • Paratransit: Transportation assistance for individuals with accessibility needs who are unable to use Razorback Transit. Call 479-575-6993 for information or to apply for service.

Getting involved outside the classroom helps students build connections, gain experience and feel more at home on campus.

Health and Well-being

Taking care of your physical and mental health is essential to academic success. The university offers a range of services to support students' well-being throughout the semester.

Dining & Nutrition

  • Campus dining: Multiple dining options are available, with meal plans and mobile ordering options to fit a variety of schedules and preferences.

Recreation & Wellness

  • University Recreation and Wellness: Participate in group fitness classes, intramural sports and holistic wellness programs.
  • Outdoor recreation: Enjoy natural surface trails on campus for walking, running or biking.   

Health Care & Support Services

  • Pat Walker Health Center: Offers medical care, mental health services, substance use and support and wellness services by appointment.  
  • Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS): Provides short-term individual and group counseling, psychiatry, case management and 24/7 emergency mental health support at 479-575-5276.  
  • UACares: Supports students navigating personal challenges and connects them with support, guidance and appropriate resources.

Safety and Support

Your safety and well-being are a priority. The university offers resources to support students in emergencies, everyday situations and challenging moments throughout the semester.

Campus Safety Resources

  • Campus Alerts: Visit alerts.uark.edu for updated campus alerts and additional details regarding instructions and/or available resources.
  • University of Arkansas Police Department (UAPD): A full-service campus police department providing patrol, investigation and outreach. Dial 911 for emergencies or call 479-575-2222 for non-emergencies.  
  • SafeZone App: A free app that connects students directly with UAPD for safety assistance.
  • Safe Ride: Call 479-575-SAFE (7233) for a safe ride after normal bus hours. New this semester: Safe Ride Sunday.  
  • Sexual and Relationship Violence Center: Provides free, confidential advocacy and services related to sexual and relationship violence. Non-emergency concerns can be reported online.
  • Campus Safety Overview: This website provides background information on safety and steps you can take to improve your safety — from scooter safety to severe weather to class cancellations.
