U of A Launches New, Interactive Campus Map
The official University of Arkansas campus map is more interactive than ever before. The new map has added a number of features to make it easier to navigate campus whether you are a new student, a returning alumnus, or just visiting for the next Razorback sporting event.
The new map can still be found at campusmaps.uark.edu and is accessible online on mobile or desktop. There, users can easily find buildings, amenities or other points of interest through the search bar or by navigating various categories.
Some of the new features on the map include:
- High-Quality 3D Renders: The new map uses high-quality 3D renders to create a realistic and immersive experience for users.
- Accessibility Features: The map includes accessibility features, such as highlighting accessible entrances and the option to avoid stairs and other inaccessible routes, to assist users with disabilities in navigating campus.
- Wayfinding: The new map provides improved turn-by-turn directions to help users navigate campus
- Event Integration: The campus calendar is integrated with the map, allowing users to see upcoming events on the map.
- Curated Tours: The new map also has the capacity for self-guided or linear tours to be created with designated stops and informational overlays to guide users through specific points of interest. Contact University Relations for more information.
The U of A campus map is more than just a directory of buildings, but can now be a useful information hub for all aspects of campus life such as move-in day, pep rallies, distinguished lectures and even transit to make it easier to get to and from campus.
Even with all of the new features, users can still find some of the same features of previous versions including: parking lot locations with updated lot numbers, dining locations and Razorback Transit routes.
Another feature specific to the U of A is the Senior Walk map. Users that want to find out where on campus their family’s and friend’s names are engraved in the sidewalk can do so by looking up their graduating year through the campus map.
The new map replaces the previous version that was created in 2012. The new version can be accessed on any smartphone, computer or through the UARK Mobile app.
