Bike Month Challenge Starts Now
It is totally free to take part and everyone is invited to join in the fun!
May is National Bicycle Month! A month-long community and workplace challenge designed to get people out having fun on their bikes! Traveling by bicycle is an excellent way to get exercise, save money, skip the traffic, and improve your overall well-being. If that's not enough, we also have prizes!
Workplaces with the highest percentage of staff riding will top the leaderboards and individuals will earn chances to win prizes simply by riding their bikes and encouraging others to join. Throughout May, there are weekly and overall challenges for participants. Logging daily bike commutes is one way to get ahead, but recreational rides also count towards prizes.
The annual National Bike Challenge is a program to encourage residents of Northwest Arkansas to live healthy, active lives by riding a bicycle. Whether for recreation or transportation purposes, we encourage individuals, families, teams, and workplaces to join FOR FREE through the Love To Ride platform, participants track their rides, earn points for prizes, and can challenge themselves and others to some friendly competition.
Follow these simple steps:
-
Tell your friends and co-workers about Bike Month and invite them to participate.
-
Ride a bike anywhere, anytime during Bike Month, May 1-31.
-
Win some prizes (hopefully).
-
Stand by to see how the U of A compares to other organizations in the region and across the nation
Pro Tip: Link Strava and Map My Ride directly to your Love To Ride account, making trip-tracking simple.
During previous National Bike Month celebrations, Northwest Arkansas has topped the national charts for our community participation; this year, we hope to keep the U of A on the leaderboards!
It's not all about who can ride the most miles, but about encouraging as many people as possible to ride for health, happiness and fun. Give it a go!
