Seeking Proposals for the Provost Award for Departmental Excellence in Faculty Mentoring

Are you a department that has an excellent faculty mentoring program? If so, submit your proposal for the 2023 Provost Award for Departmental Excellence in Faculty Mentoring. The winning department will receive $8,000, a trophy and a university plaque recognizing their achievement. The winning department will also share and showcase their mentoring program with other units on campus.

Departmental proposals must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 21, on the Faculty Affairs website. The award will be given to the department or academic unit on campus that best displays excellence in onboarding, mentoring and professional development of early-career and mid-career, tenure and non-tenure track faculty.

Outstanding departmental mentorship promotes excellence in teaching, research and/or service while encouraging a healthy work-life balance. Excellent mentorship programs support professional development, foster belonging, advocate for faculty, help build professional networks and create avenues for faculty recognition.

For additional guidelines, selection criteria and more information, visit the Faculty Affairs website or contact Anna Zajicek, vice provost for faculty affairs, at azajicek@uark.edu or Stephanie Adams, director of faculty development, at facdev@uark.edu.
