Clinical Education Coordinator Jessica Danley Selected for National Leadership Program
Jessica Danley, clinical education coordinator for the Program in Communication Sciences and Disorders, has been selected to participate in the 2022 American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Leadership Development Program.
From a competitive national search, ASHA selects only 30 speech-language-hearing professionals with leadership potential to participate in the intensive training program each year. Participants join from a diverse array of educational and healthcare organizations to collaborate on new initiatives related to speech and hearing sciences. Cohorts also meet monthly with industry leaders for personalized mentorship and strategy training. The program culminates each spring with a professional capstone project and presentation tied to each participant's career goals and expertise.
"I am thrilled to be selected for this engaging leadership program. Our cohort is a phenomenal mix of researchers and clinicians with a strong sense of optimism and service towards the profession. Collectively, we want to use our strengths to serve communities with communication differences, diversify the profession and equip new clinicians with the tools needed to succeed in current educational and healthcare environments. This is an amazing opportunity, and I am humbled to have been selected," Danley said.
Danley joined the Communication Sciences and Disorders program in January 2021. In her role as clinical education coordinator, she teaches undergraduate and graduate-level coursework, oversees clinical operations at the U of A Speech and Hearing Clinic and leads clinical programs for brain injury, voice and swallowing services.
