Joe Scribner, Director of Registration and Reporting, to Retire After 38 Years
After 38 years of exemplary service to the U of A, Joe Scribner will be retiring on March 1. The Registrar's Office invites you to join in celebrating his fantastic career.
Scribner began his career in 1984, working for computing services before moving to the Registrar's Office and working in the reporting area, later adding the role of director of registration. Asked about his career, Scribner commented, "I took my first programming class and said to myself, 'THIS is what I want to do.' Programming and report writing have been a great match for me over the course of my time at the U of A."
Dave Dawson, associate vice provost for enrollment services and director of Workday Student, as well as Scribner's longtime supervisor, said, "I've worked with Joe for many years and relied heavily on him in the Registrar's Office. He has always impressed me with his problem-solving skills and ability to analyze issues and find effective solutions. Mostly, I've appreciated and respected how Joe strived to make things work better for our students, staff and faculty. We will greatly miss his talents, his sensibility and his dedication to our campus."
