Bumpers College Virtual Meeting to Answer Questions, Help Students Plan for Spring Semester

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The fall semester is winding down and priority registration is underway for the spring semester, and members of the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Science's Dean's Office staff are hosting a virtual meeting to assist students in preparing for next semester.

Most classes have been virtual during the fall, but the U of A is planning on more in-person classes in the spring. Staff members will be available on Zoom Thursday, Nov. 5, at 4:30 p.m. to provide updates, answer questions and help current students make decisions regarding their spring schedules. Register here.

"This virtual forum is an opportunity for students to learn about the increased face-to-face delivery of courses, expectations for student attendance in those courses and details surrounding the spring semester," said Lucas Simmons, Bumpers College senior academic advisor and student experience coordinator. "We encourage students to attend this meeting as we cover their options to engage at the college and departmental levels more fully in this time of social distancing."

Simmons and other members of the college's Student Services team have been and will continue to be available to help students progress through the semester.

During the virtual meeting, Simmons will cover types of support offered by Student Services, the desire for two-way student communication with faculty and advisors, and the importance of students letting faculty and staff know if they need any assistance.

Lisa Wood, assistant dean for honors and international programs, will preview two study abroad courses being offered during the January intercession and help respond to any questions from students.

Other faculty and staff members are attending the meeting as well, and students will be encouraged to ask questions.
