Bumpers College Ag, Food, Life Experience Series Part 2: Internships & Experiential Learning
The Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences continues its "experience" series for current students with the second session offering both virtual and in-person options.
The Ag, Food, Life Experience Part 2: Internships and Experiential Learning is Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. In addition to Zoom access, students are invited to attend in person in AFLS Building Room 107-E on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is required.
The series features current students sharing their experiences in the college to help other students learn about opportunities and get more engaged. The meetings are open to any major across the college, including the School of Human Environmental Sciences.
This second discussion will showcase students who have completed internships or exceptional learning experiences as part of their program. Through discussions and a Q&A, other students will get student perspectives, make industry connections and learn about the benefits of being more involved.
Scheduled speakers for Part 2 represent a wide range of majors, including hospitality management; food science; animal science; poultry science; agricultural education, communications and technology; crop science; environmental, soil and water science; agricultural economics and agribusiness; and apparel merchandising and product development.
The session will be moderated by Lucas Simmons, Bumpers College senior academic adviser and student experience coordinator, and Donna K. Graham, the college's director of employer relations.
The first session, on Oct. 20, focused on the more than 20 clubs and organizations sponsored by the college.
Upcoming sessions in the fall and spring semesters will focus on the college's honors program and undergraduate research opportunities, international programs and study abroad, and informational sessions for transfer and prospective students.
