Ready for an experience that explores the vastness of our planet from a groundbreaking point of view?   

During this unprecedented time of COVID-19 disruption to our everyday lives, the No Man's Land Film Festival is offering their first ever virtual film festival option. No Man's Land Film Festival (NMLFF) is an adventure film festival based out of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado that meets a need and desire to highlight and connect individuals who identify as women in pursuit of monumental change, advocacy, and the radical.   

"Along with cultivating a deep interest in exploring the vastness of our planet from a groundbreaking point of view, we strive to create a history of motivating audiences to implement and inspire change," said Kathy Karlo, executive director of No Man's Land Film Festival. "Our mission transcends the films presented; this festival acts as a platform for progressive thought and movement in the outdoor industry. At No Man's Land, we aim to un-define feminine in adventure and sport through film."

UREC Outdoors, a program within the department of University Recreation, is sponsoring the film festival screening on April 16.  Members of the university community will have access to view the festival for 24 hours.

"These films exemplify the immense passion, drive, and resilience that all women embody," notes Mike Hoover, associate director of UREC Outdoors.   

This year's festival, originally scheduled to be hosted as a collaboration between UREC Outdoors and Adohi Hall, is a compilation of the best films from 2015-2020. Karlo shared that, "while we know that the virtual festival cannot replace the in-person experience of a NMLFF event, we thought that this was the perfect time to gather the hearts and minds of our community together in solidarity.

The online festival is what one would expect from an adventure-driven film screening, from the comfort of home. Grab some snacks, create opportunities to chat or interact with friends during the viewing, or snuggle up with your furry friends. This festival will bring a much-needed escape from the disparities surrounding these challenging times.

To register to view the virtual No Man's Land Film Festival please log into the UREC Members Portal with your UARK credentials. Click on the NMLFF program offering and complete the registration process through the checkout system. Remember this event is free and you do not need to be a UREC Member to participate in the film screening. Once you've completed check out, you will have access to registration confirmation (via the checkout screen and through your email) with further instructions on how to access and view the screening.
