Students Apply Now to Be a College Access Initiative Mentor

The Center for Multicultural and Diversity Education needs energetic, promising student leaders to become College Access Corps mentors for the college readiness programs hosted this summer on campus by the College Access Initiative.

Mentors will supervise students, facilitate activities, and serve as role models for Arkansas high school students to provide a fun and safe learning experience. Mentors will be expected to maintain structured contact with participates beyond regular summer program dates. Compensation includes campus meals, housing, and a stipend.

Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, March 8. Current U of A students in good academic standing who want to engage with diversity and help prospective or new students prepare for or transition to college are encouraged to apply. 

What is ACT Academy? 

ACT Academy is a 5-day, 4-night program that invites students to tackle the ACT and answer questions regarding college admissions, academic and campus life. Students will get to work on test-taking skills; learn about the many exciting opportunities the University of Arkansas offers; stay in residence hall, and experience campus life. We will serve 150 students and will hire 15 mentors.

Required Dates: June 6-13

What is Jump Start?

Jump Start is a summer program geared for rising seniors interested in attending the University of Arkansas. Students will engage with University of Arkansas faculty, staff, and students while also completing tasks related to the college going process. We will serve 50 students per session and select 5 mentors.

Required Dates: July 17-22 and July 22-25
