NOARK SuperCon Adds Employment Law Expert to Speaker List

ROGERS, Ark. – NOARK SuperCon recently announced the addition of Little Rock lawyer Cindy Kolb to its extensive list of teamwork experts speaking at the Nov. 12 event in Rogers.

Kolb, a lawyer with Cross, Gunter, Witherspoon and Galchus P.C. will present a conference session on exploring tools and tricks for managers to improve their effectiveness, while following the letter of the law.

The Northwest Arkansas Human Resources Association is partnering with the University of Arkansas Global Campus to present NOARK SuperCon 2015. The conference is set for 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Jones Center, 922 E. Emma Ave., in Springdale.

Participants can register online. The cost is $129 per person or $90 per U.S. military veteran. Groups of two or more pay $99 per person, and students pay $49.

“NOARK and the University of Arkansas have a long-standing relationship with Cross, Gunter, Witherspoon and Galchus, P.C., and we are delighted to have them joining the speaker team for the conference,” said Judith Tavano, SuperCon conference chair and director of professional development at Global Campus.

The conference is designed for supervisors and managers to explore workplace issues involving the management of people in today’s rapidly evolving and global workplaces. This year’s focus is teamwork.

Kolb will discuss common workplace issues and topics, such as discrimination, hiring, discipline, performance evaluation and communication, while also outlining the legal framework to use to effectively address these subjects without exposing employers or managers to potential lawsuits.

Denise Thomas, director of Africa Trade Public Relations and External Relations for the World Trade Center Arkansas, will deliver the lunchtime keynote, “Building Dynamic Global Teams.”

Other speakers will include:

  • Max Farrell, a nationally known speaker and an Arkansas native who co-founded WorkHound, a startup employee engagement platform focused on the trucking industry.
  • David Varner, chief strategy and development officer for Superior Linen Service and a retired member of the Navy’s elite flight demonstration squadron, the Blue Angels.

  • Sheila Moss, principal, Info Solutions Team.
