Inquiry Publishes University of Arkansas Student Works
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The September 2013 issue of Inquiry: The University of Arkansas Undergraduate Research Journal is now available online.
The journal was developed by the Teaching Academy of the University of Arkansas as a forum for sharing the research and creative endeavors of undergraduate students. The journal is supported financially and conceptually by the offices of the provost and the vice provost for research and economic development.
Volume 15 of Inquiry features the unique contributions of five undergraduate student authors and their faculty mentors.
Hannah Breshears, in the Fay Jones School of Architecture, measures, compares and evaluates spatial performance of formal and informal neighborhood spaces in Istanbul, Turkey.
Samantha Feng, in the Sam M. Walton College of Business, compares and contrasts consumer attitudes, purchase intentions and product choices as they relate to a standardized sustainability index.
Mike Norton, in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences, used 2010-2011 production data from Ghana to estimate the change in net present value associated with Cocoa Livelihoods Program training.
Luke Osborn, in the College of Engineering, examined the effects of targeted microstructures on the tribological performance of a surface in an effort to examine their ability to withstand considerable wear.
Keaton Piper, in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, developed and examined whether low-cost titanate nanofiber-bioscaffolds compensate for the longstanding problem of implantable biomaterial's poor stability and versatility.
The university publishes two online volumes of Inquiry each year. Undergraduate students and faculty mentors who are interested in publishing a manuscript from their research projects are encouraged to submit their papers to Inquiry for consideration. The submission deadline is May 16, 2014.
