Wyrick to Begin U of A Leadership Role April 1

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas Chancellor G. David Gearhart announced Thursday, March 14, that Chris Wyrick, the university’s new vice chancellor for university advancement, will formally assume his new role effective Monday, April 1.
Gearhart announced his appointment of Wyrick on Feb. 14. At the time, Gearhart said Wyrick’s starting date had not yet been determined but would be influenced by Wyrick’s completion of his duties as the executive director of the Razorback Foundation Inc., the not-for-profit organization that provides financial support for the university’s intercollegiate athletics program.
“Since my initial announcement, Chris has made time to meet with key university leaders while still maintaining his heavy schedule with the Razorback Foundation,” Gearhart said. “I am grateful that Chris is now in a position to assume his new duties without causing any disruption to the Razorback Foundation’s important work.”
“I am excited about joining Chancellor Gearhart’s administration and about working with the advancement team to help realize the university’s goals and objectives,” Wyrick said. “I am grateful to the Razorback Foundation board and staff for the support and friendship they have provided to me during my time as executive director, and look forward to working with them in my new role.”
Sean Rochelle, the Razorback Foundation’s current associate executive director, was recently selected to succeed Wyrick as the organization’s chief administrator.
Brad Choate, Wyrick’s predecessor as vice chancellor for university advancement, will work with Wyrick to ensure a smooth transition and continue his current assignment as a capital campaign adviser and development officer through the end of Choate’s current appointment. . Effective April 1, Choate’s compensation will be paid completely through private funds.
The Division of University Advancement helps support the university’s mission and strategic goals by promoting understanding, engagement, and private gift support for the University of Arkansas among alumni, faculty, staff, students and other university constituencies.
