UA WALTON COLLEGE APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas Sam M. Walton College of Business has announced the appointment of Sandra L. Ogrosky, Fayetteville, Ark., as its new director of development, effective Jan. 6, 2003.

Ogrosky was previously senior development officer for the University of Missouri-Rolla, Rolla, Mo., in its Division of University Advancement. She also served as co-director of development and as a development officer for the College of Arts and Sciences, chemical engineering department, and the KUMR public radio station.

She will report to the dean of the Walton College and to Clay Edwards, assistant vice chancellor for University Development.

She holds a doctorate of higher education, a master of science in counseling/student personnel and a bachelor of science in elementary education, all from the Oklahoma State University. Ogrosky’s background includes teaching at the elementary, undergraduate and graduate levels; new student orientation and leadership development at Oklahoma State; and counseling.

In addition to fund-raising responsibilities, Ogrosky also serves as head of the Walton College’s office of external relations, which includes constituent relations, communications and special events.

"We extremely pleased that someone of Sandra’s experience has joined the Walton College," said Dean Doyle Z. Williams. "She brings a strong set of professional development talents to the position. She has worked on a major campaign at the University of Missouri-Rolla, during which she secured the largest single gift by a living donor ever made to the university. In addition, her experience in higher-education teaching experience in the business disciplines will help her work with faculty to support their needs. Sandra will play an important role in developing new relationships with alumni as well as nurturing the existing partnerships with supporters of the College."

Clay Edwards, assistant vice chancellor for development, said, "We are so pleased that Sandra is joining the development staff. She has years of major gift experience at University of Missouri Rolla combined with a great understanding of higher education. She will add great depth to the program that Dean Williams and the chair of their campaign committee, Larry Wilson, Jacksonville, Ark., have built so they can conclude their $100 Campaign million effort."
