Student Alumni Board Rolls Out the Red Carpet for Prospective UA Students

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — On Saturday, April 2, the University of Arkansas’ Student Alumni Board (SAB) will host its third annual Red Carpet Day at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House. More than 100 high school students and their parents from Arkansas and surrounding states will be introduced to the UA campus, the application process, financial aid opportunities, scholarship programs, UA traditions and campus life - including a meal at the new Northwest Quad.

University staff members and student ambassadors will lead tours and discussion groups, and representatives from various UA colleges will make presentations and be available for questions.

The SAB implemented the annual Red Carpet Day event in 2003 to encourage increased enrollment at the university. The event is intended to focus on the recruitment of high school legacy students - those whose parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles or spouses are graduates of the U of A.

A limited number of registrations for Red Carpet Day will be accepted through March 28. For more information, contact the SAB office at 575-3510, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, by email at sab@uark.edu, or submit a registration request online at www.arkalum.org.

The Student Alumni Board is a student-run affiliate organization of the Arkansas Alumni Association.
