Schook Named Associate Vice Chancellor

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Jean E. Schook, a veteran auditor for the state of Arkansas Division of Legislative Audit, has agreed to accept the position of associate vice chancellor/treasurer of the University of Arkansas, effective July 16, 2007.

“I am very pleased Jean Schook accepted our offer,” said Don Pederson, vice chancellor for finance and Administration. “This position has been vacant since 2004, and I am confident that her financial experience and leadership skills make her the best qualified person to fill it.”

The associate vice chancellor for financial affairs/treasurer is responsible for the operation and management of the office of financial affairs and the treasurer’s office.

Schook is a 1981 graduate of the University of Arkansas, with a master’s degree in business administration. She has been a legislative auditor since 1982. She is familiar with University of Arkansas finances, serving as chief auditor for the Fayetteville campus and the University of Arkansas System administration for the past six years. Prior to that she was auditor in charge for the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.

She is both a certified public accountant and a certified fraud examiner.
