UAPD Active Threat Video Filming Scheduled on Campus

The University of Arkansas Police Department (UAPD), Emergency Management and the Division of Student Affairs will be filming a new Active Threat safety video on campus on July 14, 15, 16, 17 and 20.

The project is part of an ongoing effort to update the university's active threat educational resources and provide the campus community with realistic, campus-specific guidance on how to respond during an active threat incident. The video being produced will also answer some of the most frequently asked questions that were received after the "swatting" incident that occurred on campus last fall.

Filming for the video will take place at various locations around campus over the course of five days and is likely to include the presence of university and external public safety personnel, emergency vehicles, cameras and production crews.

On the dates of filming, campus community members may observe staged emergency response activities, such as emergency vehicles and uniformed personnel as part of the process. Please keep in mind these activities are planned, controlled and being conducted solely for educational and training purposes and do not indicate an actual emergency.

While every effort will be made to minimize disruptions, brief impacts to pedestrian or vehicle traffic may occur in limited areas.

We appreciate the campus community's patience and support as we work to strengthen emergency preparedness and safety education across the university.

We recognize that topics involving violence and emergency response can be difficult for some members of our community. Support resources are available through Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) for students and the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for faculty and staff.
