Student Leaders Invited to Serve as Table Captains for Sharing Spaces: A Sunday Supper

The U of A Center for Community Engagement and Multicultural Center are seeking student organization leaders to serve as table captains for Sharing Spaces: A Sunday Supper, a community-building event taking place Sept. 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. as part of Welcoming Week NWA. The event aims to foster relationships across campus and the broader Northwest Arkansas community through meaningful dialogue and shared experiences. 

The event will bring students and community members together around the dinner table for meaningful conversations, connection and shared experiences. Organizers are inviting student leaders of Registered Student Organizations, Program Allocation Board organizations and Greek organizations to help create a welcoming environment by serving as table captains during the event.

Table captains will facilitate conversation at assigned tables, helping participants connect with one another while building their own leadership and communication skills. The role offers students an opportunity to engage with the broader community, represent their organizations and contribute to a more inclusive campus environment.

In addition to supporting the event, table captains will earn volunteer service hours, receive a complimentary meal and gain experience in communication, leadership and professionalism. Participating organizations will also have an opportunity to promote upcoming events and strengthen connections with fellow students and community members. 

All table captains are required to attend one facilitation training session before the event. Trainings will be held in the Multicultural Center Classroom from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 9 or 10, and lunch will be provided.
