The U of A Speech and Hearing Clinic is joining a global community of educators, clinicians and advocates in recognizing World Hearing Day.

World Hearing Day is an annual awareness event led by the World Health Organization to highlight the importance of hearing health and preventive care for all ages. This yearly recognition reflects the UA Speech and Hearing Clinic's ongoing commitment to serving students, faculty, staff and the Northwest Arkansas community in audiology and hearing services. Hearing is essential to communication, learning and connection, yet hearing loss remains one of the most common sensory conditions worldwide. Through education, advocacy and clinical care, World Hearing Day encourages individuals to protect their hearing, seek regular hearing checks and understand the options available for support and intervention.

Located in the Epley Center for Health Professions, the UA Speech and Hearing Clinic offers comprehensive audiology and hearing services, including diagnostic hearing evaluations, hearing conservation education and options for amplification and assistive technology. Clients of all ages receive high-quality, evidence-based care from clinic audiologist Dr. Taryn Loyd. Services are individually tailored to each visitor's needs. Beyond hearing care, the clinic also provides speech, language and literacy intervention, supporting communication and quality of life for children, adults and families.

As World Hearing Day underscores the value of hearing health, the UA Speech and Hearing Clinic invites the community to learn more about its hearing services and to take proactive steps toward maintaining lifelong communication wellness.
