On Jan. 29 from 2 - 3 p.m., the World Languages and Digital Humanities Studio will host a workshop on Frame VR conducted by Chy'Na Nellon. Nellon is the assistant director of learning innovation and assessment and a doctoral student in comparative literature and cultural studies who has implemented Frame VR in her course, Black Digital Storytelling (AAST 3353).
Frame VR is an online platform used to create shareable 3D virtual spaces. Users can work individually or collaboratively to curate an interactive digital space with stored images, videos, live transcription and links with artificial intelligence (AI). Spaces are accessible to an audience online via web browser, by phone or with a VR headset.
Nellon will introduce Frame VR's interface and guide participants with a hands-on session on setting up and navigating Frame VR, and how to customize their own virtual space with Frame VR's interactive elements. This will include adding content to these digital spaces and working collaboratively. Participants should bring a device, such as a laptop, to try out the platform in real time.
Join us at the WLDH Studio at JBHT 207 at 2 p.m. to learn more about Frame VR. This event is free and open to university faculty, staff and students.
