Seniors in international and global studies preparing a thesis project will have an opportunity to sharpen their research and presentation skills at an upcoming Undergraduate Thesis Workshop, hosted by the International and Global Studies Program.
The workshop will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, in CORD 324 and is designed for international and global studies senior students currently working on an undergraduate thesis. Participants will present a portion of their ongoing research and receive constructive feedback from faculty and peers.
Faculty mentors for the workshop include professor Calabretta-Sajder (World Languages, Literatures and Cultures), professor Kelly Hammond (History), and professor Davidson (Geosciences). The session will focus on strengthening presentation skills, refining arguments, and offering practical guidance for revising thesis work.
International studies majors interested in presenting must submit a 250-word abstract describing their research project to Kelly Hammond (kah018@uark.edu) by Jan. 25. Three to four students will be selected to participate. Chosen presenters will be asked to submit a ten-page section of their thesis by Feb. 7.
Although the presenter will be selected only among INST majors and minors, this workshop is also open to all students and faculty who wish to attend to watch the presentation, offering a chance to see examples of INST senior research and learn more about expectations for the INST thesis.
Lunch will be provided, and registration is required. Registration remains open through Feb. 7 via this link https://cglink.me/2uB/r398272
