Campus Keys to Be Requested, Approved Through Online Process Starting in January

Improvements in the process for obtaining campus keys will go into effect early next year.

Facilities Management (FAMA) and IT Services (UITS) have teamed up to modernize the key request process, shifting from paper authorization cards to an online approval portal beginning in January.

The new authorization process will be initiated via a ticket in TeamDynamix (TDX), and the requester will be notified when the request is fully approved and keys are ready for pickup. This process change will enhance campus safety with consistent approvals and improved key tracking while saving time for requesters.

UITS will hold "office hours" in January for staff members who would like to familiarize themselves with the updated process.

Key Office Remodeling

The Key Office itself will be closed starting at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, for renovations. It will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8.

Except in cases of emergency, new keys will not be issued while the Key Office is closed, and legacy paper key cards will not be accepted for new key issuance after Dec. 15.

Beginning Thursday, Jan. 8, all new keys must be requested using the new electronic form housed in TDX.

If it is necessary to return keys while the Key Office is closed, keys may be returned to the FAMA office front desk during normal business hours.
