Join the Division of Student Affairs and the office of Transfer Central in celebrating National Transfer Student Week (Oct. 20-24). As transfer student champions, the staff and faculty of the University of Arkansas are determined to build awareness of common transfer student barriers along with the diverse student needs and identities within our transfer populations. 

National Transfer Student Week offers the perfect opportunity to highlight transition struggles and successes and unite our campus in advocating on behalf of our specific transfer population. Throughout the week, Student Engagement and Transfer Central will host a variety of events to celebrate and highlight University of Arkansas transfer students.

Study Abroad 101 — Monday, Oct. 20, 9-9:45 a.m., Office of Study Abroad, 520 N. Storer Ave.
Study Abroad 101 is a small-group info session designed to help you take the first step in your study abroad journey. In this session, you'll learn about program types, how to get started with the application process, and where to find funding. Not only is it the perfect starting point if you're curious about studying abroad and don't know where to begin, but it is also a required step in your application process. 

Tau Sigma National Transfer Honor Society Info Table — Monday, Oct. 20, 1-3 p.m., Arkansas Union Mall
Come meet the Executive Leaders of the National Transfer Student Honor Society and see how you can get connected with other Transfer Students at the University of Arkansas!

Scholarship Lab — Tuesday Oct. 21, 2-4 p.m., Arkansas Union 305
Learn tips and tricks to obtaining scholarships while attending the University of Arkansas!

***Transfer Student Mixer @ Ozark Bowling — Tuesday, Oct. 21, 7-9 p.m., 2300 N. College Ave.
Join us for a fun-filled evening at the Transfer Student Mixer! Perfect for new students looking to make connections, this event is designed to help you meet fellow transfer students in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Enjoy FREE bowling while mingling with other transfer students. To make the night even sweeter, food and drink will be provided! Space is limited so be sure to RSVP to secure your spot!

Swag Swap — Wednesday, Oct. 22, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Silas Hunt Hall
Stop by Silas Hunt Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Current students who transferred to the U of A can show us an item from their old school and get something branded with the U of A. Your UARK student ID is required.

***Lunch with the Vice Chancellor — Thursday, Oct. 23, noon to 1 p.m., Arkansas Union
Are you a University of Arkansas transfer student? Do you want to have a sit-down lunch with Jeremy Battjes, the vice chancellor for student affairs. Sign up to enter the chance to be one of the 10 lucky transfer students invited to lunch with the chancellor! On Oct. 18 at noon, 10 lucky transfer students will be chosen at random to be invited to lunch on Oct. 23. To enter, visit the HogSync Event Page. Only Transfer Students are eligible to enter. Dietary restrictions can be indicated on the form and alternatives will be available upon request.

Pumpkin Painting with Tau Sigma National Honor Society — Thursday, Oct. 23, 4-6 p.m., Arkansas Union Mall
Come paint pumpkins with your fellow transfer students! There will also be light food and drinks!

Battle of the Bands — Thursday, Oct. 23, 7:30-9:30 p.m., Chi Omega Greek Theatre
Get ready for University Programs' annual Battle of the Bands event! See all of your favorite local bands compete to win!
