As a fun way to encourage students to vacate athletic lots before home football games, Transit and Parking Services is holding tailgating events in Lot 500, the best location to relocate vehicles, all season.

The next event is taking place from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, in Lot 500 off Beechwood Avenue.

Those who attend can find a parking space to leave their vehicle in for Saturday’s game and will be treated to free food, energy drinks, tailgating games and giveaways.

Many parking lots must be vacated by 11:59 p.m. Friday in preparation for Saturday home games. The football parking map shows which lots need to be cleared.

Razorback Transit will be operating until 10:30 p.m. Friday evening and can take those who make the trip out to Lot 500 back to the main area of campus.

Transit and Parking will hold events for other home games this year on these dates:

• Oct. 17 before Texas A&M
• Oct. 24 before Auburn
• Oct. 31 before Mississippi State
