Step into an evening of dynamic music and powerful expression as the University of Arkansas Inspirational Singers, the Inspirational Chorale, and the Arkansas Gospel Chorale join forces under the direction of Jeffrey Allen Murdock. The concert, titled In His Safety, will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, in the Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center.

Murdock, professor of music and director of the Inspirational Chorale, returns to Fayetteville following a one-year teaching fellowship at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. A nationally recognized conductor and scholar, and Grammy-winning music educator, Murdock is excited to return to lead the chorale into a new season of artistry, tradition, and inspiration.

In His Safety will feature works by Take Six, Anita Wilson, and Donald Lawrence, alongside powerful choral settings by Stacey Gibbs and Stephen Paulus. With a blend of high-energy gospel, soulful classics, and moving contemporary choral works, the program affirms the human spirit with songs of hope, resilience and joy.

Founded in 1977, the Inspirational Chorale is the university's longest-running diversity initiative and has served as a beacon of cultural expression for nearly five decades. The Inspirational Singers and Arkansas Gospel Chorale continue this legacy, bringing fresh energy and artistry to the stage while honoring the deep roots of the Black Sacred Music tradition.

Tickets for In His Safety are $20 for adults and $10 for students, faculty, and seniors. Tickets will be available at the door (card payment only) and are subject to availability. Early arrival is encouraged to secure seating.
