U of A Alumna to Speak With Undergraduates About Career in Archives and Human Rights
Students are invited to a special virtual Zoom event featuring U of A alumna Felicia J. Williamson, MLIS, CA, on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 12:30 p.m. Wiliamson will share insights into her career in archives and her work at the intersection of history, memory and human rights.
Williamson currently serves as director of the Helen and Frank Risch Family Library & Archives at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum, where she leads efforts to expand and preserve a vital collection of rare books, historical artifacts and oral histories. Her work ensures broader access to these powerful resources and supports the museum's mission to teach the history of the Holocaust and advance human rights to combat prejudice, hatred and indifference.
A graduate of the U of A with a B.A. in history, German and European studies, Williamson went on to earn her Master of Library and Information Science with a concentration in archives from Louisiana State University. She is a certified archivist and active member of both the Society of Southwest Archivists and the Society of American Archivists.
This event is a unique opportunity for undergraduates to hear directly from a professional archivist and museum professional who has built a career grounded in historical scholarship and public service. Free registration is required.
