KEY CAMPUS EVENTS TO HELP WELCOME STUDENTS
- A-Week: (Aug. 11 – Aug. 17) Kick off the year with events designed to help new students transition to campus.
- New Student Pep Rally: (Aug. 17, 7:30 p.m. – 11 p.m.) Introducing first-year students to Razorback traditions
- HillFest: (Aug. 18, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Arkansas Union Mall): Showcase campus offices and organizations.
- Razorbash: (Aug. 20, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Arkansas Union Mall): Connect students with local businesses and nonprofits.

Campus Communications & Events
- Follow @uarkansas on social media for official updates.
- RazALERT: Stay informed with the RazALERT system (pronounced raise-alert) on campus safety issues and emergency weather alerts. RazALERT emergency messages are sent automatically to all campus phones and email addresses if there is an immediate threat to campus safety. Make sure to have your contact information updated.
- Front Page News: Stay informed with Arkansas News online (daily) and the Arkansas News Brief (weekly email). Check out student media: The Arkansas Traveler, Hill magazine, KXUA radio, Main Hill Media, Razorback Yearbook and UATV.
- Explore campus events and connect with registered student organizations on HogSync. (Log in with your UARK credentials).
Faculty & Staff Resources
- The Office of the Registrar has many tools to aid university faculty and staff including an up-to-date administrative calendar.
- Faculty can check out the The Wally Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center (TFSC) for resources and programs.
- Office of Career Connections: resources and opportunities are available for faculty and staff to help integrate career readiness into your work with students.
- Library use: Mullins Library, the primary research library, and its satellite libraries are open to all employees.
Getting Around
- Riding the bus? Razorback Transit has improved routes and real-time tracking via Passio GO!
- Biking on campus? Cyclists on sidewalks follow pedestrian rules, while cyclists on roads follow motor vehicle laws. Review trail etiquette and map your route.
- Need a scooter? E-scooters are allowed anywhere bikes are, but remember that campus is a slow zone (under 6 mph).
- Parking a car? Purchase a parking permit and review the parking map. Before home games and other special events, certain parking lots have to be vacated. Parking tickets can be handled online.
- Need assistance? Our Paratransit service is here to help those with accessibility needs that keep them from being able to use Razorback Transit. Call 479-575-6993 for more information or to apply for Paratransit use.

Academic Help and Tools
- Student Success Center: Located in the Cordia Harrington Center for Excellence (the CORD), has tutoring, academic coaching, writing and career support — plus study space and food options.
- Computer Labs: Tech Spot computer labs are located across campus and offer printing, charging stations and access to a wide range of software.
- Academic Accommodations: Students can get academic assistance from the Center for Educational Access.
- Student Handbooks: The Student Handbook and Graduate Student Handbook include information about the code of student life, housing, Greek Life and registered student organizations.
- Academic Calendar: Key dates for holidays, deadlines and breaks.
- University Bookstore: Visit for textbooks, course materials, supplies, Razorback gear and graduation essentials. The bookstore offers employee discounts with U of A faculty/staff ID.
- Career Services: Resources for students looking for on-campus jobs, internships, career fairs and events.
- Student Resources:
- First-Year Students: Destination Arkansas Blackboard Activities (DABA) is a free, non-credit course that helps students prepare for their first year at the U of A (learn.uark.edu).
- Online Students: The One Stop Student Guide provides resources and campus services.
- Graduate Students: The Office of Graduate Student Support has programming, student engagement and professional development opportunities.
- International Students: The Office of International Students and Scholars offers seminars, intercultural training and country-specific workshops to encourage campus and community involvement.
Tech Support and Resources
- IT Services: Tech support at the IT Help Desk is available in the Arkansas Union, 479-575-2905 or online at help.uark.edu.
- Student Technology Center: Available in the Arkansas Union and offers students technology and equipment access, gaming and leisure, as well as a Digital Media Lab for audio and video production, photography, graphics and animation.
- Tech Store and Service Center: Tech support, computer and iPhone repair, software access and more is available at the Arkansas Union and the University Bookstore.
KEEPING OUR CAMPUS SAFE
- UAPD: Our full-service campus police department provides patrol, investigation and outreach. Dial 911 for emergencies or call 479-575-2222 for non-emergencies.
- SafeZone App: Free app connecting with UAPD for safety help.
- Pat Walker Health Center’s Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS): Critical mental health services including short-term individual counseling, group counseling, psychiatry, case management and a 24/7 emergency mental health service for students, faculty and staff (479-575-5276). Resources are available for faculty and staff to support students.
- Sexual and Relationship Violence Center: Provides free, confidential advocacy and services related to sexual and relationship violence. Report non-emergency concerns.
- UACares: Some things in college are just tough to navigate. If students are having trouble and need support or guidance, the UACares office can help.
- Safe Ride: provides a safe means of transportation from any uncomfortable or inconvenient situation after normal bus hours. Call 479-575-SAFE (7233). New this semester: Safe Ride Sunday.
STAYING HEALTHY
- University Recreation and Wellness: Both individual and family memberships are offered in the University Recreation and Wellness facilities. Join group fitness classes, intramural sports and holistic wellness programs. Or grab your bike and ride through the natural surface trails on campus.
- Pat Walker Health Center: Explore the diverse range of services offered to support the overall health and wellness of every student, faculty and staff member. Medical care, mental health care, substance use and support services are offered by appointment.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP): 24/7 Employee Assistance Program offers personal, professional and family counseling
Campus Dining: Multiple dining options are available on campus and there is also an app for mobile ordering. Explore Club Eats, the faculty and staff dining plan that lets you eat everywhere on campus.
