Schola Cantorum impressed with their contribution to the world premiere of FLOCK, a multi-disciplinary dance and musical work by the vertical dance company Bandaloop, the 2025 artists-in-residence at the Momentary in Bentonville. Inspired by the audacious will of migratory birds, FLOCK gathered the audience for a journey of vertical performances featuring live music. This world premiere included elements of theatre, performance art and dance in a collective migration through the Momentary's architecture.

Students in Schola Cantorum, along with director Stephen Caldwell of the Department of Music, sang as part of four tableaus of FLOCK, weaving improvised and scripted music together, written by Destani Wolf and Ben Juodvalkis.

Jodi Cobalt, producer for Bandaloop, said that the singers from Schola Cantorum "showed a professionalism beyond their years" and was "continuously impressed with their flexibility and discipline in performance."

Evan Goforth, a music education major and singer in Schola Cantorum, commented that "it was great to be treated as professionals while still a student, and to have these types of performance opportunities available to us as part of our studies."

Harper Combs, a chemical engineering major and singer in Schola Cantorum, added that "it was facinating to observe a different creative process and see how our voices could fit into it."

The Schola Cantorum regularly appears at venues across Northwest Arkansas, but this was their first invitation to perform at the Momentary since it opened in 2020.
