The Global Campus will honor Lesa Moyer, a treasured staff member with 16 years of service, at a retirement reception on June 27.

The campus community may know Moyer best for her collaborative work with academic units to schedule online classes, but Moyer has served many mission-driven roles during her time at the Global Campus.

U of A colleagues who have worked with Moyer over the years are invited to stop by to congratulate her from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, June 27, in the first-floor lobby of the Global Campus building, 2 E. Center St.

"Throughout her 16 years at Global Campus, Lesa has been a valued team member," said Nancy Arnold, Moyer's direct supervisor since 2013. "I'm so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Lesa. She's been such an important part of our team, and I wish her much happiness."

Moyer's work with the Global Campus began in 2009 when she was hired for a large-scale record archiving project through Razortemp, the university's temporary job-placement program. Shortly thereafter, she accepted an appointed position and served as assistant to the director of Administrative Services for several years, working with hiring, payroll and leave reporting. In 2013, Moyer moved to a position in the Office of Credit Studies and spent the next decade diligently supporting students taking correspondence courses. In 2016, Moyer added class scheduling to her repertoire, working closely with academic departments and administrative units across campus on arrangements for online classes.

"Working with students was my favorite part of my job. That was the highlight," Moyer said. "I loved helping them work through the issues that came up and reassuring them that they were on the right track, and they would be fine."

The Global Campus works with educators and staff across the Fayetteville campus to remove barriers and apply innovative solutions for all learners, particularly online learners. It supports U of A colleges and schools in the development and delivery of online, distance and workforce education programs and courses.
