U of A Students Compete in HogHacks Hackathon
The U of A Association for Computing Machinery hosted this year's HogHacks, which drew more than 140 participants who competed for prizes and recognition by developing computer software and hardware.
Alex Prosser, president of the UARK ACM Student Chapter and one of the organizers of HogHacks, said, "I want to thank the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, as well as J.B. Hunt, SupplyPike, ArcBest and Phillips 66 for all their support."
The HogHacks hackathon is an event where participants form small groups and use their technology skills to create a product based on a theme. Once the theme is announced, teams have 24 hours to complete their projects. After the time limit expires, teams present their work to a panel of judges, who evaluate and rank the projects.
Organizers want HogHacks to emphasize creating opportunities for participants to network with peers across the university and apply the skills they are learning in the classroom while working together.
