The Fine Arts Library is once again open to the public, after closing in December 2022 as part of the restoration of the Fine Arts Center. Please join us for cookies on the morning of Monday, April 14, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in Room of the Fine Arts Center 104. Staff will be on hand to answer questions.

"I am delighted to reopen the Fine Arts Library and excited to offer once again in-person services and browsable collections—in a larger, brighter space," said Phillip J. Jones, associate librarian and director of the library.

The library gained approximately 1,600 square feet during the renovation, most of which is being used to house even more books. A new KIC station and Bookeye are available for scanning.

The library will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday throughout the semester, with additional hours planned for the fall semester.

The Fine Arts Library opened as a branch of the University Libraries in 1951 when the acclaimed Fine Arts Center, designed by Edward Durell Stone, was completed. The collections in the Fine Arts Library include electronic and print resources in the visual arts (art history, art education, art studio, graphic design, architecture, interior architecture and design, and landscape architecture). Types of materials include books, exhibition catalogs, reference books and periodicals.
