TFSC Announces 2024-25 Faculty Commendation Program

The Wally Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center is pleased to announce its 2024-25 faculty commendation program. For those who have participated in this program in the past, please note that there have been major revisions to the process.

2024-25 Lori Libbert New Faculty Commendation for Teaching Commitment 

New faculty, faculty with two years or less of service at our university, can receive commendation for participation in 2024-25 events and activities sponsored or supported by TFSC. Each event or activity is assigned a point value, and new faculty who earn a total of 12 or more points will receive the commendation. 

  • Four points for attending 2024 Teaching Camp 
  • Two points for attending 2024 New Faculty Orientation 
  • Two points for attending the 2024 Baum Teaching Workshop 
  • Three points for attending 2025 Winter Teaching Symposium 
  • Four points for attending 2025 Teaching Camp 
  • One point each for attending a 2024-2025 TFSC New Faculty Luncheon 
  • One point each for attending a 2024-2025 TFSC Cordes Chair Event 
  • One point each for attending a 2024-2025 TIPS Luncheon 
  • Two points for being observed in fall 2024 or spring 2025 by a TFSC Certified Peer Observer 

2024-2025 Commendation for Teaching Development (for Not-So-New Faculty)  

Faculty with more than two years of service at our university can receive commendation for participation in 2024-2025 events and activities sponsored or supported by TFSC. Each event or activity is assigned a point value, and not-so-new faculty who earn a total of 12 or more points will receive the commendation. 

  • Four points for attending 2024 Teaching Camp 
  • Two points for attending 2024 Baum Teaching Workshop 
  • Three points for attending 2025 Winter Teaching Symposium 
  • Four points for attending 2025 Teaching Camp 
  • One point each for attending a 2024-25 TFSC Not-So-New Faculty Luncheon  
  • One point each for attending a 2024-25 TFSC Non-Tenure-Track Faculty Luncheon  
  • One point each for attending a 2024-25 TFSC Cordes Chair Event 
  • One point each for attending a 2024-25 TIPS Luncheon 
  • One point for applying for a 2025-26 TFSC grant 
  • Two points for being observed in fall 2024 or spring 2025 by a TFSC Certified Peer Observer 
  • Four points for completing the TFSC Certified Peer Observer training in fall 2024 or spring 2025 

Receiving the Commendation 

Faculty who believe they have earned the points required for commendation should email tfsc@uark.edu with a list of the events and activities in which they participated. This email must be received by TFSC on or before Aug. 8, 2025. Faculty who receive commendation will be recognized at the annual Faculty Awards Reception on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2025.
