Twenty-eight supply chain management majors from the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the U of A have been inducted this fall into the Sigma Chi Mu Tau Honor Society.

Sigma Chi Mu Tau is an honor society specific to supply chain management juniors, seniors and graduate students - as well as educators and professionals - who have shown dedication and contributions to the supply chain management profession.

Membership is open to the following students who must have an overall cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.25 on a 4.00 scale:

  • Juniors ranking in the top 10 percent of their class. Juniors are classified as completing 70 hours or more at the time of induction.

  • Seniors ranking in the top 20 percent of their class. Seniors are classified as being one year or less from graduation at the time of induction.

"Sigma Chi Mu Tau believes that academic excellence should be a high priority for every supply chain management major and was created to remind students of the importance of scholastic achievement," said Donnie Williams, Ph.D., associate professor for the J.B. Hunt Transport Department of Supply Chain Management. "We are excited to add these students to the premier supply chain management honors society in the world."
