Over the course of the spring 2023 semester, the Weekly DH Meet-Ups covered a variety of topics affiliated with the field of Digital Humanities. Some recorded sessions included "User Experience Research and Digital Humanities" (presented by professor Rachel Ten Haaf, Spanish), Podcasting as Pedagogy (presented by professors Manuel Olmedo Gobante, Spanish; Rhodora Vennarucci, Classics; and Portuguese TA Larissa Rocha), and Digital Humanities & Anti-Racist Pedagogy (presented by professor Megan McIntyre, English).
Additionally, the Weekly DH Meet-Up introduced various tools for the language classroom. The free-to-use digital tool, Padlet, was explored across three DH Meet-Ups: "Creating Community Narratives and Digital Storytelling via Padlet" by Chy'Na Nellon (Ph.D candidate, Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies), "Using Padlet in the Classroom" by Professor Maria Comsa (Instructor, French) and Christian Rosales (M.A. candidate, French), and "Digital Humanities Tools for the Language Classroom" presented by Jhonatan Carmona Tangarife (M.A. candidate, Spanish).
Videos from the meet-ups that were recorded are available on the WLLC website.
The DH Meet-Up is a series of workshops that demonstrate the intersections of digital humanities with digital pedagogy. The WLDH Studio looks forward to continuing the series in the 2023-24 academic year. Please reach out to the WLDH Studio directly if you have suggestions for future Meet-Ups!
