Applications for students interested in filling vacant seats in the Associated Student Government Senate are now available on the Office of Student Activities' HogSync portal. Students should log in with a valid uark.edu email address. The ASG Senate is open to all full-time U of A undergraduate students who meet co-curricular requirements throughout the academic year (full time status, 2.25 or above GPA and not on conduct or academic integrity probation). Elected senators serve their term for one academic year. Applications are due by Tuesday, Aug. 31, by noon (CT) via HogSync. No exceptions will be made for late applications even if HogSync allows the submission.

In the 2021 Fall Vacancy Election the ASG Senate will fill vacant seats on an at-large basis. This means that students can vote for any candidate, regardless of which college they or the candidate is enrolled in. Additionally, five vacant seats are reserved for first-year students.

Candidates submitting an application for the ASG Senate must also complete the on-line Candidate's Orientation Quiz or attend the Candidate Orientation Session. Candidates wishing to attend the Candidate Orientation Session virtually can attend the session on Thursday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m. in Arkansas Union 305. If a candidate is unable to attend the session, they must take the quiz on HogSync. The quiz covers information found in the PowerPoint presentation at asg.uark.edu/elections. Candidates must score a passing grade in order for their application to be considered complete and placed on the ballot. After taking the quiz, candidates will receive notification of either passing or failing the quiz within 24 hours by ASG Chief Justice Adam Hagler. If a candidate fails the quiz, they must retake it and pass it prior to the deadline of Tuesday, Aug. 31, at noon (CT). Late quizzes will not be accepted even if HogSync allows the submission.

Voting for the 2021 Fall Vacancy Election will begin at 9 a.m. (CT) Tuesday, Sept. 7, and close at 4 p.m. (CT) on Thursday, Sept. 9. Paper ballots will be available in the Office of Student Activities, Arkansas Union A665. Please visit https://asg.uark.edu/elections/ for a complete election timeline.
