Become a Part of University Housing's Adopt A Prof Program

University Housing invites our campus faculty to participate in the Adopt A Prof program connecting faculty with residential students and creating social experiences outside the classroom.

Faculty become honorary members of the residential community and interact with residents on an informal but intentional level. The program allows faculty to be integrated into the programming aspects of the residence hall to the extent their schedule allows.

This type of interaction connects the academic pursuits of the on-campus students with their lives outside of the classroom.

Adopt A Prof faculty serve as "pseudo mentors," sharing their own topical perspective and life experiences with residents through events like movie screenings and discussions, sponsored study breaks or competing in events such as "Are You Smarter Than a Professor."

Faculty are asked to participate in two events per semester based on availability. They are also asked to attend one hall staff meeting and at least one individual meeting with the coordinator for residence education (CRE) from the assigned hall per semester.

Faculty are invited to participate in social events throughout the academic year, including one meet-and-greet luncheon and an end-of-the-year appreciation reception where they will receive a certificate of recognition from University Housing for their collaboration and support.

Those interested in serving as an Adopt A Prof should complete the form attached in the link below by Monday, July 5.

Additional information about the program will be sent via email. For immediate questions, please email Thalita Da Silva Hotz at tnunesro@uark.edu.
