Register for Faculty-Focused Panel Discussion on Plans for Fall Semester

A faculty-focused panel discussion on the university's plans for a face-to-face fall semester will take place from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, via Zoom. Registration is required, and participants can submit a question or topic for the panel's consideration.

The panel is comprised of university representatives from various offices overseeing the university's COVID-19 response. Charles Robinson, provost and executive vice chancellor of academic and student affairs, will moderate the discussion. While faculty are encouraged to attend, staff members whose work pertains to academics are welcome to participate as well. 

Panelists include:

• Terry Martin, senior vice provost for academic affairs
• Kathy Sloan, vice provost for faculty affairs
• Scott Turley, interim associate vice chancellor, Facilities Management
• J'onnelle Colbert-Diaz, associate director/accommodation and accessibility coordinator, Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance
• Capt. Matt Mills, emergency manager, U of A Police Department
• Huda Sharaf, medical director, Pat Walker Health Center

Last month, the university announced plans for a face-to-face fall semester that includes classes, student organization activities and events, and other in-person functions and activities. The university will maintain mask use and social distancing protocols at this time and anticipate doing so through summer classes. Additional details about the fall semester will be announced later this spring.

Any surge in COVID-19 infections could modify return plans as the health and safety of the campus community will continue to shape all decision making. The COVID-19 website will be updated with all the latest guidance and information later this spring.
