FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Product managers can register for a new 10-session, online training course to help define, develop and launch products, based on today’s industry practices and strategies, through the University of Arkansas Global Campus.

U of A Professional and Workforce Development, a part of the Global Campus, will partner with Emergn, a leading global professional services firm, to offer this Product Management Training Course on Thursdays from Feb. 18 to April 22.

“Everyone involved in product management is after the same thing — creating a highly successful product,” said Alex Adamopoulos, Emergn CEO. “At Emergn, our primary focus is helping people improve the way they work so they can craft, design and build great solutions customers love.”

Product owners and managers with any level of experience can register online for the facilitator-led training course. The cost is $1,299, including a copy of Emergn’s Product Management book and access to the Emergn online learning platform for one year.

The 10-session course includes eight one-hour, work-based classes; two one-on-one sessions with Emergn product management experts; and two to three hours per week of practical application and additional study.

“We rely on our industry partners to help the U of A identify and deliver practical training that is in high demand,” said Tara Dryer, senior managing director at the Global Campus. “Emergn and the Northwest Arkansas Product Management Guild worked with us to provide this important workforce education option.”

Emergn is a co-founding member of the Northwest Arkansas Product Management Guild. The guild’s mission is to lead the product management profession in developing and promoting vendor-neutral product management approaches, industry best practices, body of knowledge expertise and educational services.

Other training options are showcased on the U of A Professional and Workforce Development website, managed by the Global Campus.

Course Details

The Product Management Training Course is a practical, online course for those working in and around product management. Emergn facilitators will focus on the skills and competencies needed to launch products and services as well as the features that satisfy the needs of consumers.

Participants can apply what they learn in the workplace, allowing them to bring a structured approach to managing products and applying strategy. They will study true industry scenarios and the most effective strategies for building better relationships with stakeholders: bosses, teams and customers.

“Understanding the latest thinking in product management via textbooks doesn’t cut it when it comes to navigating the complexity of transforming an idea into a value proposition and product that users love,” according to Emergn. “Emergn designed this course to help participants apply what they learn outside of the classroom.”

The course will include techniques and tools from many modern schools of management, including Design Thinking and Lean and Agile, and will align them with the outcomes of Value, Flow, Quality, which is Emergn’s action-learning education program focused on outcomes. VFQ is used by hundreds of organizations globally, according to Emergn.

Other training programs are showcased on the U of A Professional and Workforce Development website.
