State of the University Address Highlights One University Week
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Chancellor Joe Steinmetz will discuss the university’s current status, new initiatives and look to the future in his annual State of the University address later this week, highlighting One University Week, Oct. 1-5.
"I believe this is a great place to be right now,” said Chancellor Steinmetz. “I’m highly encouraged by what’s happening on our campus and where we’re going. I look forward to sharing more information about our key initiatives and what’s to come in the next year.”
The chancellor’s State of the University address will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Faulkner Performing Arts Center. Details regarding the address and other One University Week news and events are included below and will be provided daily in Arkansas Newswire.
One University Week: 2018
Provost’s Fall Academic Update – Tuesday, Oct. 2
Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Jim Coleman will provide a fall academic update for the entire campus community in Arkansas Newswire.
University’s Vision and Mission Update – Wednesday, Oct. 3
The UA System Board of Trustees recently approved updated vision and mission statements for the university. Although the purpose of the institution remains unchanged and the university’s primary mission hasn’t changed significantly in many years, the university worked to more clearly and succinctly state its vision and mission for better understanding moving forward. Details will be provided in Arkansas Newswire.
Chancellor’s State of the University Address – Thursday, Oct. 4
Chancellor Steinmetz will discuss the university’s present and future in a State of the University address at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 at the Faulkner Performing Arts Center. The address is open to the public. A livestream of the address and later a recorded version will also be available at the University of Arkansas YouTube channel.
Unifying Messaging Themes Presentation – Friday, Oct. 5
More than 8,000 people, including faculty, staff, students and other university stakeholders, helped develop unifying messaging themes for the University of Arkansas to clearly convey who we are, what we do, and why it matters in a consistent and unified manner. University Relations will provide a recap of the process, themes and next steps from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5 in Davis Hall. Lunch will be provided for those who RSVP in advance. Seating is limited so attendees are asked to RSVP as soon as possible and no later than 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4.
