ROGERS, Ark. – Registration is open for two classes that can help professionals manage projects better with Agile/Scrum and explore innovative management techniques.

Agile/Scrum

Introduction to Agile/Scrum focuses on the fundamentals of software and methods used for better project management and increased market competitiveness. It is set for 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at the Global Campus in Rogers, 3300 Market St., Suite 402. Participants can register online, and the cost is $199.

Training materials are designed to appeal to leadership, as well as potential Scrum team leaders.

"Strengthen your career skills by learning how to put this methodology to work for both you and your company to compete faster  and stronger in today’s marketplace,” said Marilyn Ledbetter, instructor for the Agile/Scrum class. “Increase your company’s bottom line, while adding valuable skills to your career skill toolbox.”

Ledbetter, an IT consultant with 25 years of experience, worked for large companies in Oklahoma and Arkansas, serving in job roles that include Scrum Master, Agile Coach, programing, database administrator, software testing, training and quality assurance governance.

Innovative Management

Innovative Management is an accelerated, comprehensive program that provides how-to information about being an effective manager, motivating others, increasing productivity and overcoming obstacles. It is set for 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 12-13, at the Global Campus in Rogers. It will be taught by industry experts and experienced managers. Participants can register online, and the cost is $499.

“Many people contact [Global Campus] to say they have been recently promoted to a manager or supervisor position, and they realize they need a whole new skill set to be effective in their new responsibilities,” said Tara Dryer, director of training, corporate development and academic outreach. “That’s why we’re offering this course.”

The first day, April 12, will focus on effective communications, strategic change, organizing people and projects, emotional intelligence, personality assessments, generational differences, employee engagement, delegating responsibilities and empowering employees.

The second day will focus on interviewing, hiring, onboarding, creating a positive culture, advocating for your team and employees, coaching, evaluating employees, building improvement plans, having difficult conversations, navigating legal issues, resolving conflict, preventing harassment, maintaining documentation, handling discipline and dismissal, and adapting to innovation.

These and other opportunities for professional and workforce development are showcased on the Global Campus Rogers website. Customized training is also available.
