Workshop to Enable Professionals to Gain Business Insight from Sales Data
ROGERS, Ark. — The University of Arkansas Global Campus will offer a two-day workshop in November to show professionals how to analyze and interpret retail sales data to gain strategic business insight.
“Getting Business Insight from Sales Data: A Unique Method of Analysis for Working Analysts” is set for 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Nov. 5 and 6, at the Global Campus in Rogers, 3300 Market St.
Participants can register online. The cost is $595.
Participants will discover:
- A new definitional framework for sales analysis
- How to use a revenue model and its functionality
- How to refresh the model using new data
- How to use driver analysis and context analysis
- A rationale for transforming the task of sales analysis from one of report generation to one of providing strategic insight
David J. Cooper, owner of Transactional Insights LLC in Gravette, will teach professionals how to use a unique revenue model, a universal, systematic method for analyzing and interpreting retail sales to help businesses run more effectively and productively.
“Upon initial inspection the model seems quite simple,” said Chad Symens, president and chief executive officer of Accelerated Analytics. “However, the magic begins to happen as David (Cooper) analyzes and explains the relationships between product velocity, price and distribution and the impact they are having on performance.”
At this workshop, professionals will learn how to use a revenue model to mathematically disaggregate sales changes into their component drivers. This model has been applied to multiple categories by “big box” retailers.
Component drivers are used in “driver analysis,” which uncovers business insight from sales data. There will also be an introduction to “context analysis,” the primary means of uncovering shopper insight from the same ordinary sales data.
Participants who have their employer’s permission can bring actual data to the workshop for analysis and interpretation.
