Documenting your move to campus can be rewarding.

University Housing rewarded three students who documented their experience by giving them iPad Minis supplied by Cox Communications.

The #UARKHome iPad Mini Giveaway ran between Aug. 14 and Aug. 24. It was open to students living on campus. Submissions were made through Instagram by using the hashtag #UARKHome.

Housing received 50 entries and called upon a panel of judges to settle on the final three winners.

"Move-in Weekend is an exciting time where first impressions are set and things happen fast," said Christopher Spencer, Housing's assistant director for marketing and strategic communications. "We tried, but knew we couldn't document all the great moments during that experience."

"We offered iPad Minis to stimulate the community to share their personal experience of moving in at the university."

The ideal contest entree depicted the student and how they styled their personal space, he said.

"Our residence hall rooms are sort of like open canvases for students to express themselves. We wanted to see and capture that transformation," Spencer said.

Special consideration was also given to resident assistants who worked to keep help students move in between Aug. 13 - 17.

The contest was a success and will return again next year, he said.
