Communication Strategies for Children With Autism Topic of Meeting

The special education program at the University of Arkansas will present information on communication strategies for children with autism at a town hall meeting from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. May 5.

Ashley Parnell, a doctoral student studying applied behavior analysis and autism spectrum disorders, will present the program. It will take place at 410 Arkansas Ave. on the northeastern edge of the Fayetteville campus.

Parnell works with the Arkansas Autism Partnership, providing quality assurance and behavior analytic treatment for young children with autism. Her research interests include staff training and human performance improvement in the behavior analytic treatment for autism. 

Space is limited so people interested in attending are asked to RSVP by emailing projconn@uark.edu or calling 479-575-3215. Graduate students in the program will provide child care during the meeting.
