Poverty Institute for Professionals Scheduled for March 9-10

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas Early Care and Education Projects will host an intensive, two-day Poverty Institute that will provide an understanding of poverty and what participants can do to more successfully assist people in moving out of and staying out of poverty.

The institute takes place March 9 and 10 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1325 N. Palak Drive, Fayetteville. It is free and open to the public but online registration is required.

The Poverty Institute is designed for people who work in early childhood settings, social services, education or community organizations. Participants will:

  • Learn to communicate more effectively with people living in poverty.
  • Use role play, activities, modeling and dialogue to understand and practice core concepts.
  • Come away with concrete strategies and materials that they can use right away to make a difference.
